March 1, 2026 | How to Plan a Destination Wedding on the Emerald Coast
Planning a destination wedding along the Emerald Coast is an exciting opportunity to create a celebration surrounded by white sands, coastal sunsets, and relaxed elegance. However, planning from out of town comes with unique logistics that require careful coordination and local expertise.
If you are considering a destination wedding in the Florida Panhandle, here is what you need to know,
1. Understand Beach Permits and Local Regulations
Many public beaches require permits for ceremonies, decor, arches, chairs, and amplified sound. Each count has different requirements, insurance guidelines, and vendor rules.
Working with an established local wedding planning company ensures your ceremony complies with regulations and avoids unexpected day-of issues.
2. Choose the Right Level of Planning Support
Destination weddings vary in scale. Some couples plan intimate elopements with only an officiant, photography, and simple decor. Others host full wedding weekends, including rehearsal dinners, beach bonfires, and next-day brunches.
Selecting planning support that matches your wedding size, guest count, and complexity is essential. Structured coordination helps manage timelines, vendors, and guest flow so that you can remain present and enjoy the experience.
Celebrate the moments. We coordinate the rest.
3. Simplify Vendor Coordination
Managing multiple vendors from out of state can quickly become overwhelming. Photography, catering, rentals, decor, music, officiant, and permits must align perfectly on your wedding day.
Many destination couples choose to work with a company that offers both planning and coordinated services under one team. This simplifies communication, reduces contract management, and ensures consistency across every element of the event.
4. Plan for Weather and Coastal Logistics
Beach weddings require backup plans, wind considerations, sound adjustments, and timeline flexibility. An experienced planning team anticipates these details before they become problems.
From ceremony setup to reception flow, coastal weddings demand precision and preparation.
5. Consider Extending the Celebration
One of the advantages of a destination wedding is the opportunity to create a full wedding weekend experience.
Many couples include:
* Beach bonfires
* Welcome gatherings
* Next day brunches
* Vow renewals or surprise proposals
These additions create meaningful moments for guests traveling to celebrate with you.
Begin With a Structured Planning Guide
Every wedding is unique. Before creating a proposal, we ask couples to complete our Wedding Planning Guide so we can understand their vision, location, guest count, and service needs.
This allows us to recommend the right level of planning, coordination, and services for your celebration.

Jan 17, 2025 | Bliss by the Beach: Enchanting Wedding Ceremonies with Bonfire Celebrations
Imagine saying “Forever I Do” with the golden sun dipping below the horizon, the soothing sounds of waves crashing on the shore, and the warmth of a crackling bonfire to follow. Beach weddings have always been synonymous with romance and natural beauty. But adding a bonfire celebration after your ceremony can elevate the experience to something truly magical. Here’s how you can create an unforgettable beach wedding and bonfire celebration for your special day.
A Ceremony by the Sea
Start with a beachfront ceremony that capitalizes on the scenic splendor. Decorate with delicate, flowing fabrics that sway with the ocean breeze, and choose a color palette that complements the natural surroundings – think soft pastels or vibrant tropical hues. An arch adorned with seashells and florals can frame your vows against the stunning backdrop of the sea. Encourage guests to dress comfortably yet elegantly, suitable for a beach setting.
Setting the Stage for the Bonfire
As twilight settles in, the real magic begins. Arrange cozy seating areas with blankets and cushions around a central bonfire. Lanterns and fairy lights can add a touch of enchantment as they glow softly against the night sky. Consider setting up a s’mores station with all the fixings, and perhaps even a bar with beach-inspired cocktails to keep the festivities going.
Entertainment and Activities
To keep guests entertained, plan for some beach-friendly activities. Fire dancers or musicians can add a unique flair to the night. Alternatively, organize games like beach volleyball or a sandcastle-building contest. As the night progresses, the bonfire can serve as a gathering place for storytelling, music, and laughter.
Capturing the Memories
Don’t forget to hire a photographer who can expertly capture both the serene ceremony and the lively bonfire celebration. The contrast between the natural light of the sunset and the warm glow of the fire will make for stunning photographs that you and your guests will cherish forever.
A Thoughtful Farewell
As the evening winds down, send your guests off with beach-themed favors – perhaps individually wrapped wedding cookies or personalized seashells. This small token will remind them of the beautiful evening they shared with you by the sea.
Incorporating a bonfire into your beach wedding is a fantastic way to blend the timeless romance of a seaside ceremony with the cozy, intimate vibe of a campfire gathering. It’s a celebration that’s sure to leave you and your guests with warm memories for a lifetime.
By choosing Forever I Do Weddings, you’re ensuring a day filled with love, laughter, and enchantment. Let us help you create your dream beach wedding with a bonfire celebration that you’ll remember forever.
Final Thought
Picture this: your loved ones gathered around, the sound of laughter mingling with the whisper of the waves, and the sight of the firelight dancing on the sand. It’s not just a wedding – it’s a dream come to life.
Top 5 things to add to your wedding to give it a personal touch!

Feb 3rd, 2023 | Wedding planning
When planning a beach wedding, you want it to be completely you. You want to make your wedding an unforgettable experience for everyone, and that’s why you chose the beach as your ceremony location! You want your big day to be a perfect representation of you and your fiance. So how do you go above and beyond to make your wedding more personalized?
Here are the top 5 things to add to your wedding to give it a personal touch.
1. Ceremony additions.
There are many things you could add to your beach ceremony to give it a more unique touch.
a. Sand unity. A sand unity is when you and your fiance take two separate colors of sand and pour them into one vessel, symbolically representing that you two are becoming one. Another amazing idea with the sand unity is including sand from the beach you are getting married on! What better addition to your home together than a keepsake container of your special day?
b. Knot ceremony. The knot ceremony has a rope that you and your fiance can tie together; physically “tying the knot”. Cute!
c. Special prayer from family or friends. If you are both religious, this would be a beautiful touch to include someone special in the ceremony with words of your beliefs.
e. Including bubbles on guests’ seats for a beach-friendly, photo-worthy recessional!
2. Ceremony decor.
Your ceremony decorations set the mood for your guests! Here are some quick ideas to think about adding to your ceremony.
a. Shepherd hook aisle with silk flower pomanders to give your aisle an extra flare.
b. Personalized sign. This sign could say you and your fiance’s names and wedding date, a “choose a seat, not a side” sign, and more!
c. Chair sashes in your wedding colors.
d. Have your flower girl throw seashells instead of flower petals for a more beachy touch!
e. Sand dusters for guests to dust their feet after the ceremony.
3. Unplugged ceremony.
In this day and age, everyone has their phone on them. On your wedding day, you can expect no less; everyone wants a picture of you! However, phones may get in the way of your photographer or videographer. Consider having an unplugged ceremony! With a sign at the start of your aisle explaining your wishes, you can avoid having cellphones ruining the shot. This also encourages your guests to be present and truly enjoy your ceremony.
4. Bonfire.
What better way to commemorate your special day than with a bonfire? If you and your partner aren’t the types to have a big reception, a bonfire is a more relaxed and enjoyable way to commemorate your marriage. After you’ve taken your pictures and as the sun sets, have your family and friends circle around the fire to end the night!
5. Last dance.
This idea is a sentimental way to end your reception. You and your partner would choose a special song, and have all of your guests leave your reception venue. With just the two of you, your DJ would play your song, and you would both have the last dance of the night. Wedding days can be such a whirlwind; it would be an amazing touch to be able to have a moment with just your partner to process the day. Not to mention, this would be a beautiful picture; you both holding each other as the venue is empty!
Not only would this be a sweet moment, but your guests could get ready outside for your exit. Think of sparklers as your guests say farewell! This would be such a dazzling moment for you and your guests.
Your wedding day is all about you and your partner. Make sure to make it special for you both. And everyone is different! You might not want a huge production, and that’s totally okay. Add your own personal touches to truly make day yours. Happy wedding planning!
